support@fovly.orgFrequently Asked Questions
What book formats does Fovly support?
Fovly supports EPUB, FB2, MOBI, and TXT file formats. You can import books from your device's Files app, share them from other apps, or download free classics from the built-in Project Gutenberg catalog.
What is RSVP and how does it help me read faster?
RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) displays words one at a time in a fixed position on screen. This eliminates eye movement (saccades), allowing your brain to focus entirely on processing words rather than finding them. Most users can comfortably read 2-3x faster after some practice.
How does the free trial work?
New users get a free trial to explore all features before being charged. During the trial, you have full access to everything: unlimited books, speeds up to 1,200 WPM, all themes and fonts, AI features, and reading statistics. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
How do AI features work?
Fovly's AI features use Google's Gemini to provide context-aware summaries of what you have read, word explanations, book summaries, and comprehension quizzes. Text excerpts are sent to the AI service for processing but are not stored by us.
Is my reading data private?
Yes. All your books, reading progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, data is stored in your private iCloud container, encrypted by Apple. We never have access to your reading data.
Can I use Fovly on multiple devices?
Yes. With iCloud sync enabled, your books, progress, and settings stay in sync across all your iOS devices signed into the same Apple ID.
How do I adjust the reading speed?
Use the speed slider during reading or tap the settings icon to access speed presets. You can set a global default speed and override it per book. Fovly supports speeds from 60 to 1,200 WPM.
What should I do if a book does not import correctly?
Some EPUB files with unusual formatting may not import perfectly. Try re-downloading the book from a different source. If the issue persists, please email us at support@fovly.org with the book file and we will look into it.
Managing Your Subscription
Fovly subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel, change your plan, or check your billing status:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions
- Find Fovly in the list and tap it
- From here you can switch between monthly and yearly plans or cancel
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access until then. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged.
Restore Purchases
If you reinstalled Fovly or switched devices and your subscription is not recognized, open Fovly — your subscription should restore automatically. If it does not, go to Settings > Manage Subscription and tap Restore Purchases.
